Movie Review: Friends with Benefits

Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis star in this raunchy movie as Dylan (Timberlake), who moves to New York after headhunter Jamie (Kunis) recruits him to become the new art director for GQ Magazine.  They are friends who have fun with each other – and they take fun to a whole new level when they start sleeping with each other but without the commitment of a relationship. 

Although it tries to pass itself as something other than a romantic comedy, Friends with Benefits is just that.  Sure, it makes fun of the typical rom com with references to Katherine Heigel and even a satirised romantic comedy-within-a-romantic comedy, but its plot is just as predictable as any other chick flick.

Not that it has to be anything more than that – people go to the movies for fun – and that is exactly what this film is all about.

Friends with Benefits has got everything a good chick flick should have – an attractive young man, humour (with laugh out loud moments) and, most importantly, a happy ending.
