On Monday, 21 May, Burwood Rotary Club will host its 2012 special presentation ceremony for Pride of Workmanship Awards to local community members who have made exemplary contributions in their vocations.
Those receiving awards will include Pamela Barrett and Valier Kenny of Burwood Community Welfare, Anne Ho and Arathi Elamurugan, Burwood Public School Parents & Citizens, and Fady Chahrouk, Eurella Community Services.
Burwood Rotary President, Tim O’Connor, said: ‘these awards recognise significant contribution in the workplace, positive and constructive attitude to employment, and quality of work.
‘This is the 34th year that Burwood Rotary has distributed Pride of Workmanship awards under the theme: “Do it once, do it well’’.
‘These awards aim to promote vocational service, encourage pride in vocations, provide employers with an opportunity to recognise employee, encourage favourable employer/employee relationships, and foster a sense of community pride in individual achievement, ’ Mr O’Connor said.
Joining recipients will be some 40 Burwood Rotary members, who support a range of local community endeavours.
