BPW Strathfield Club are having a ‘Days for Girls’ kit-making event at Burwood Girl’s High School on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 of June and are looking for help on either day for a few hours.
Days for Girls provides sanitary packs in countries where girls are educationally disadvantaged because they have to stay at home when their menstrual cycle occurs.
“Our aim on Friday and Saturday is to pack 220 kits to support girls’ education,” said BPW Strathfield Founding President Faye Helou. “It will be a challenge to complete all the kits, so if you’re in Sydney and you can spare even just a few hours on either of these days, it would be a huge help.”
One Days for Girls kit lasts for up to three years and is a gift of up to 180 days of use for each girl. The days mean girls don’t have to worry about managing their period and they can get on with their education.
“Days when they might otherwise miss school and fall behind their classmates. Please help us help the girls get the best education possible,” Faye said.
