Wed Jan 25: More than 60,000 students in NSW public schools will be receiving new Lenovo computers when they return to school, as part of the 2012 rollout of laptops. Lenovo’s new lightweight ThinkPad X130e, valued at almost $700,features the latest generation Intel Celeron or i3 processors, fast, integrated graphics, and advanced wireless connectivity and multimedia tools. Just over 1,000 laptops will be delivered to the following high schools; Strathfield Girls, Burwood Girls, Ashfield Boys, Strathfield South, Rivendell Concord West, Concord High and Homebush Boys.
To prevent wear and tear, the laptop has a reinforced and extra-durable top cover, keyboard and hinges, and rubber protective bumpers. The 8.5 hour battery life will also be a boon to students and their schedules. As part of the package, Lenovo will offer students built-in self-help tools and accidental damage protection and hard drive retention services.
The laptops are part of the Federal Government’s Digital Education Revolution in NSW program.
